Christmas Table 2021

Dec 16, 2021 | Christmas, Maggie Lane Designs, Tablescapes

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today on the blog is my Christmas Table 2021.  I am using my same dishes from last year HERE but this year I really thought about how many dishes I would actually need based on the meal I plan to make.  I decorated my tables early this year but already had most of my menu planned out.  I’ve added soup to the menu this year so I was sure to add a bowl for that.  It is ok to put out dishes that do double duty like the ramekins that I plan to use for my dessert.  When one wants dessert and someone else wants a salad, I have dishes on the table to accommodate that.  See my photos and video below.

Although my dining room table extends to seat 8, I am only having 6 people this year but put out all of my china from Home Goods and TJMaxx.  The pattern is called Holiday Wishes by 222 Fifth.  The wine glasses and goblets are hand painted from TJMaxx.  The centerpiece is actually 4 separate pieces.  I used a matching cake stand to my china, set it inside a Christmas wreath, sat the star/candle on the top of the cake plate and then filled it in with Christmas ornaments.  The two Santas flanking my candle are from Home Goods in Missouri.  Yes, Mr. TAL brought those all the way back from our home in Missouri for me 🙂

The most important aspect of this table is that I considered what I was making for dinner and put out the appropriate dishes.  This year I’m making soup (Lobster Bisque), appetizers, salad, several main dishes, a dessert plus a holiday punch, ice tea, wine, and coffee.  Always make sure you have salt and pepper, appropriate eating utensils, knives, and butter dish so you don’t have to keep jumping up to get what your guests need.  I love using charger plates.  They keep the tablecloth nice and clean and they can be used as a plate for more helpings of food :-).  As for the tablecloth, I bought a large piece of cloth from JoAnn Fabrics yeas ago when I was making and selling jewelry to cover my tables and now use it for my holiday tables.  They had already sewn the edging for me so it was and is perfect for everything I use it for.
As promised, I will try and post every day until end of December. I hope you are enjoying all of the holiday posts and should you have any ideas or topics you would like to know more about, please comment below.  I would be happy to create a post for you.  Enjoy!

I love hearing from all of you and do my best to respond to each and every one of you.  I always enjoy your comments, feedback, and suggestions so keep them coming!  If I’ve posted a recipe (for our human and our furry friends) and you try it, don’t forget to tag me on Instagram @twoadorablelabs and use #twoadorablelabs.
