The Woodbury Cabin and Pond

Oct 2, 2018 | Life, Travel

Thomas and I have just come back from a very relaxing trip to Ohio where we stayed in a beautiful, secluded, and peaceful cabin called The Woodbury Cabin and Pond.  One place that holds a special meaning to us is Sugarcreek, OH and surrounding areas and we wanted a place where we could take Jake and Maggie this time.  I found The Woodbury Cabin located in Coshocton County outside Warsaw, OH through Airbnb and was put in contact with Shane who assured me our dogs were welcome.  So, a quick check with Thomas, and our two night stay was booked on this tranquil 42 acre property.

This log cabin is within a short distance of Amish Country, Longaberger, Roscoe Village (see my post here), The Mohican River, public wildlife areas, and other attractions such as wineries and dining.  Our favorite areas to visit in the Amish Country are Sugarcreek, Walnut Creek, and Berlin all in Amish Country Ohio!

If your looking for something closer to Mohican State Park, check out their other two rentals:  The Lodge at Babble Brook and The Mohican Farmhouse.  These rentals, or homes should I say, are owned by Shane and his wife Melissa and I treated their cabin just as I would my own home.  Our cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen except food but that’s ok because we had fun grocery shopping at the Amish grocery stores!  Stop in at Guggisburg Cheese and Dutch Valley Market!!  There is also a Super Walmart within driving distance from the cabin.

We got up early in the AM each morning and enjoyed a cup of coffee while watching the sun rise through the trees.  Of course, this beautiful fireplace was on which made the cabin feel even more cozy.  Thomas brought his engineering books while I read magazines and watched the dogs play while we were all curled up in our blankets.  We all enjoyed walking the trails, watching the squirrels knock acorns from the trees, and sitting on the front porch overlooking the pond.  If your looking for a quiet getaway and a place that allows dogs, The Woodbury Cabin is your place.  It was cozy, clean, and Shane and his family have thought of everything to make your stay perfect.  This is true country living.
