My turkey table!

Nov 6, 2019 | Maggie Lane Designs, Tablescapes

Can you believe it is November 6th already?!!!  I’ve said over and over that I love the fall weather we have been having but I’m sad now because…guess what…we are getting snow tomorrow :-(.  Thanksgiving is right around the corner and what better way to cheer myself up but to decorate my “turkey table”.  I spent this afternoon putting away my pumpkin decor and pulling out the turkeys!!  I got the table done just in time for the sun to set and to get some fun pictures!  Enjoy!!!

Can you believe this entire table (except for the wine glasses and silverware) came from Home Goods!!  It took me 2 years to put it all together starting with the large dinner plates that I found last year.  I made several trips to Home Goods trying to find all the matching pieces and ended up with this table.  The wine glasses are from Dollar General which I have used on my Sunflower Table and Pumpkin Table.  That $4.00 was well spent!  The gold silverware was a gift from my parents.  The large turkey is actually a turkey boat or can be used as a soup boat.  The smaller turkey can be filled anything from stuffing, to cranberry sauce, to something sweet!

I have two different napkins on the table because…well, who doesn’t need more napkins during Thanksgiving dinner?!!  To give the table setting some dimension, I laid one napkin across the plates and another folded between the salad plate and dinner plate.  You can never have to many plates while serving a big meal.  The “leaf plates” are for finger foods, salad, or dessert.  The entire table cost me $147.00 and now I have a place settings for 4 people including 2 turkeys that can be decorative or as dishes, napkins, glasses, and salt and pepper shakers.  The turkey tablecloth was on clearance!!!

Jake and Maggie were with me the whole time but as you can see, Jake wore himself out trying to keep up with me.  haa haa. I hope you enjoyed my table.  I promised Thomas a home cooked meal when he gets home from his trip to Philadelphia.  I’ll probably be making a turkey breast with all the fixings!!
