Should Dogs Be Allowed In Grocery Stores?

Mar 11, 2020 | Pet Health, Pets

I was in our local JoAnn Fabrics Store the other day and noticed the “Pets Allowed” sign on the door as I was checking out.  I expressed my excitement to the cashier but noticed the side eye from the lady next to me.  My next stop was Krogers where I saw a couple walking a small dog with a vest that said…”Service Dog Do Not Pet”.  The first thing I wanted to do was pet the dog but I had to respect the rules.  Service dogs are for people who need emotional support and should be left alone.  But should any dog be allowed in grocery stores?

St. Patrick's Day Scarves from Dollar General!

I bought Jake and Maggie St. Patrick’s Day scarves from Dollar General and they loved them.  Jake is sporting green stripes while Maggie is rocking four leaf clovers.  I’ll be sharing more pictures on Friday with you!

Would it bother you to see dogs in a grocery store?

Would you think of sanitary issues?

Would you find it repulsive to see a dog peeing on the floor or throwing up in the grocery isle?

Would you mind dog hair and dander on your groceries?

Would it bother you to see an untrained dog off leash in a grocery store?

Would you think about fleas and ticks?

Would it bother you to find groceries ripped open by a dog and left for you to find?

I’m going to leave it here and follow up with you on Friday’s post.  I would love to get your feedback, views, and opinions!!  Type in the comment section or you can send me a personal email at twoadorablelabs@gmail.com if you would rather be anonymous from other readers.  Feel free to DM on Instagram @twoadorablelabs.  I will not use names or contact information in Friday’s post.  I will also share my opinions with you as well.

There are so many places you can take your dog now a days, so no I don’t believe the grocery store should be one of them.
