Witch And Skulls Appetizer Table

Oct 3, 2023 | Halloween, Holiday, Maggie Lane Designs

Happy Wednesday everyone!  This fun and casual Witch And Skulls Appetizer Table was a delight to put together.  Rather than putting a normal tablescape together, I chose to create this table to emphasize appetizers and create a table where my guests can just pick up a plate and enjoy a selection of different holiday foods.  Check out my Tips For Making Party Appetizers!  The recipes I will be making to put on this table will be posted in the next week or so along with a fun Halloween dog treat for our furry friends.  And as always, it will be Lab tested by Jake and Maggie :-).

How I created this Witch and Skulls Appetizer Table:

It all started with the witch I found at TJ Max!  The entire table revolves around her :-).  I loved all the detail on her from her face (mole), clothes, broom, shoes, stockings, to the black nail polish on her finger nails.

I first covered the table with this skull blanket I purchased at the end of summer at Home Goods.  It is 70 x 60 inches and made by Cynthia Crowley.

How to create this Halloween Christmas tree:

I bought this black tree from Walmart a few years ago.  It already had the tree skirt included.  All of the decorations on the tree were purchased from the Dollar General this year.

I put down a wood cake plate from TJMaxx, covered it with this shimmery skull tablecloth from Big Lots that I purchased last year.

I sat the witch down on the cake plate with the candle stick behind her and placed the tree on the table behind her.  Then I built the table around that.

The Apothecary sign is from Dollar General and I leaned it up against the cake plate on the other side.  These wood signs are so versatile and can be used inside for walls, doors, and tables or on a holiday wreath!

This table is perfect for a Halloween party because it’s bright, festive, spooky, classy, and provides all the items necessary to hold appetizers, desserts, and drinks.  The square dish was originally going to be used for dips and chips is now going to be used to hold silverware.  It’s always fun to display the party silverware a different way.

Don’t be afraid to layer blankets, table clothes, napkins and combine patterns as long as they are in the same color family.  In this case, I accented black, gold, and cream with pops of orange!
