Happy “Friday Treats Friday” everyone!  In keeping with the fall theme this month (cause we are all about the fall season in the Domitrovich household), I developed this Doggie Oatmeal recipe but without the oatmeal!  LOL!  Made with two large ripe bananas, unsweetened applesauce, almond flour and coconut flour with a dusting of cinnamon, this recipe is a great way to serve up a healthy snack for your pup…and you too!  The ripe bananas, almond and coconut flour make this treat sweet which Jake and Maggie loved!  These treats are lab tested and approved!

Can dogs consume uncooked almond and coconut flour?  Flour is not toxic to dogs. Depending on how much your dog ate and the size of your dog, he or she could want to drink a lot of water to compensate for the amount of flour they ate. Since dogs don’t usually eat flour there could be some throwing up or loose stool as well as gas.  Both almond flour and coconut flour are gluten and grain-free.  While almond flour is non-toxic to dogs, giving your dog almonds is not a good idea. Nuts are healthy for us, packed full of antioxidants and vitamin E, but can cause your pet great discomfort causing kidney stones, stomach upset, and abdominal pain.
