Buffalo Check Tablescape For Fall

Sep 13, 2021 | Halloween, Maggie Lane Designs, Tablescapes

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope my Buffalo Check Fall Table makes your day even brighter.  I’m so happy fall is here.  I spent the weekend decorating my front porch and putting this fun table together.  With finds from Kirklands, Hobby Lobby, Dollar General, and Walmart.com, I was able to create this black, cream, orange, and leopard tablescape that can last from now all the way through November!  These dishes are so versatile in that you can pair them with so many different colors all year long.  Use them to create a farmhouse table to a traditional table or for any holiday.  I’ve included three short videos of the table at the end of this post.

My little helpers 🙂

Jake and Maggie spent the weekend helping me decorate but as soon as I opened up our side door to the kitchen they decided to take their break.

Buffalo Check is still trending!  I found this fun article via HGTV on the meaning, fashion, and decorative uses of buffalo check – https://www.hgtv.com/design/decorating/design-101/trending-now–buffalo-check.  If you are looking for the perfect gift, trying giving something in a fabulous and versatile buffalo check!

The chair squares and placemats are actually pillow cases found on Walmart.com.  I chose not to fill them with stuffing and instead used them on my table.  They make great table linens!!!  The buffalo check napkins are from Walmart.com last year.

The dishes, mugs, and candle sticks were purchased from Kirklands.

The candles are from Mr. Tal’s mother and are over 50 years old.  The green candles are wax candles while the orange candles are made of plastic and cannot be burned.  They are strictly for decorative use only.  I have been holding on to these candles for years now and finally put a tablescape together that would highlight how beautiful and special they are.

As for the florals in the middle of the table, I purchased 3 fuzzy orange stems and 3 leopard stems from Hobby Lobby and intertwined them together in different directions.  I wanted something simple but colorful and loved the pop they gave to the table.  I thought the little leopard pumpkins in velvet on these stems were so cute!  I had originally planned to put them in a fall wreath but instead will use them for a floral arrangement for the middle of my dining room table after I take this tablescape down.

The grey/black wine glasses were purchased at the Dollar General for $1.00 a piece and go well with several other dishes I have.  The $4.00 was so worth it especially for the Fruity Fall Party Punch recipe I made last week!

The napkin rings were from Home Goods a few years ago.

The cream chicken plates were bought at an antique store in Eureka, Missouri where we lived for five years.  Downtown Eureka was a quaint little place that I enjoyed very much.

I absolutely love the buffalo check fall tablescape and the splash of leopard thrown in! What an ingenious idea of using the pillow cases as placemats and chair pads! You are so creative! Such great decorating ideas as always!

Thank you so much! I had originally thought leopard would look busy on the table but loved it. Now I just need to do a leopard and buffalo check tablescape!!! I have light chairs and light chair cushions so having the pillow cases as covers really helped!
