DIY Ornament For Any Pet Lover

Dec 17, 2020 | DIY, Maggie Lane Designs, Tips and Tricks

Happy Friday everyone!  Do you have extra material laying around from another project that you have no idea what to do with?  Then you’ve come to the right place!  This DIY Ornament for the pet lovers in your life is perfect for any occasion especially at Christmas.  The theme of this material is adorable with a mix of Paris and Doggos!  I used it for making ornaments but it would be a great pattern for a dog bandana!

How To Make A DIY Ornament:

This literally takes minutes to make and no glue required.  I had bought extra material from JoAnn Fabrics, found ribbon, styrofoam balls, and flowers at Walmart, and pulled out the sharpest scissors I had at home.

I cut a square big enough to fit the medium sized foam ball allowing for room at the top, laid the ball in the middle of the material, and with both hands pulled the material together, twisted the top and secured it with a small piece of wire ribbon.

Then I added two different ribbons, tied them in a bow, and wrapped the wire flowers around the tie.  I fanned out the material at the top and cut it to length.  I then took another piece of ribbon, tied it in a knot around the twisted part and tied the two ends together making sure it was sure to hang on the tree.

Look how thrilled Jake is with this project! LOL

More ideas on how to create a DIY gift:

Considering making this but for another occasion, try adding in place of styrofoam, tea leaves for a tea party, rice for a wedding, potpourri for laying in your vanity or drawers, or scented oils for your car.  Instead of using gift bags, wrap up a gift card making it extra special.  You never know, the person you are gifting this to could be as crafty as you and be able to re-use your gift to make something else unique!

Happy Crafting!!!
