Fido’s Deviled Eggs

Apr 2, 2021 | Pets, Treat Recipes

This is a re-post.  With Easter right around the corner, this is a perfect treat to make for your pup!  For my new subscribers, I try new dog recipes all of the time.  If they are “lab approved”, I post them on Fridays.  In this case, Jake And Maggie definitely approved.  Enjoy!

Happy “Friday Treats Friday” everyone!  Deviled Eggs …. Perfect for your pet at this Easter Holiday!!  I found this recipe on BringFido.com and had to make it.  What better way to celebrate your pet than to make a traditional holiday treat! With 3 simple ingredients, you can make these eggs in no time at all and as I always say; lab tested and approved!  I’m beginning to think that Jake and Maggie are not picky at all!  They loved these treats.  I was a bit worried because they haven’t tried this type of treat.  I don’t give them eggs but they were begging me for more!

Eggs should be cooked before given to a dog. Cook or boil eggs plain without oil, butter, salt, seasoning, spices, or other additives.  Start by feeding your dog just one egg. Watch them for any signs of gastrointestinal distress like diarrhea or vomiting. As long as they don’t show any digestive discomfort, you should have no trouble giving them eggs.  You can add them to your dog’s food, give them a hard boiled egg whole or chop up into pieces and use as a fun way to teach your dog a new trick.  Once they get the trick down, a little piece of egg as a reward will keep them wanting to do and learn more!

Ingredients:
3 hard-boiled eggs
3 tablespoons plain, full-fat greek yogurt
1 teaspoon parsley, dried or freshly chopped

Instructions:
Peel boiled eggs and cut in half lengthwise.  Tip:  Take eggs from boiling water and immediately put them into ice water for 5 minutes.  This will make them easier to peel the shells from the egg.
Remove yolks and mash with a fork in a bowl. Mix in yogurt and parsley to the yolk mixture until smooth and creamy. You can add a couple of drops of water or additional yogurt if desired.
Spoon or pipe mixture into each egg and garnish with additional parsley.

My friend gives her dogs an egg every day and their coats are so healthy and shiny looking! I am glad Jake and Maggie loved the eggs because they sound good enough for me to eat them all for myself!!!😋
