Mudslide Cocktail With Ice Cream

Dec 1, 2021 | Drinks, Food

This is a re-post with some updates.

I finished decorating our trees, house, and tables and as I was cleaning up, I remembered that last year Mr. TAL and I made these Mudslide Cocktails With Ice Cream and Chocolate Syrup.  We said we would make it a tradition each year to put up the tree and have a drink while decorating and listening to Christmas Carols!  This year we drank Moscato and Cabernet but plan to create another fun drink which I will definitely share with you during “The 12 Days Before Christmas” posts.  For those of you who are new to the blog or simply just missed this post last year, I wanted you to have it because it is sooooo good!  Or maybe you read it and wanted the recipe again :-). Enjoy!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!  It’s December 1st and we are kicking off the month with this decadent Mudslide Cocktail With Ice Cream dripping in Bailey’s Original Irish cream, Stolichnaya Vodka, and Kahlua Rum and Coffee Liqueur.  Add in the sweet French vanilla ice cream and Hershey’s milk chocolate, topped with whipped cream and you’ve got yourself a dessert and drink all in one!  The texture is thick, creamy, chocolatey, and rich with notes of liquor.
I am on a mission to create and duplicate more cocktail and drink recipes. I started with my Berry Wine Spritzer and Thomas’ Manhattan then got side tracked with other topics and posts.  Comment below and let me know if you have a drink you would like me to make for you!

Mr. TAL and I started a new tradition this year by making this cocktail and putting up the tree.  We were busy little bees buzzing around the kitchen making, drinking this delightful cocktail, while decorating our tree in red, cream, and gold (more on that this month).

We first made this recipe exactly as I found it on Mr. B Cooks in which Thomas said was very, very good.  I on the other hand needed more ice cream and added vanilla.  I personally thought the original recipe was to strong for my tastes but once I added more of these two ingredients, it was perfect.  I now think it tastes pretty darn close to Applebee’s Mudslide!

How To Make A Mudslide Cocktail With Ice Cream:

This recipe is incredibly simple to make. All you need is two decorative glasses, shot glass, a spoon, and a blender.  We got out all of our ingredients, let the ice cream sit for a bit to soften, and drizzled chocolate syrup in two wine goblets.  You can do this by tilting the glass and twirling it between our fingers while squeezing chocolate syrup into the glass.

Tips On Making A Perfect Mudslide Cocktail:

– Freeze your glasses first for a few minutes so that your drink stays colder, longer.
– The one thing I forgot to do was drizzle chocolate syrup over the whip cream.
– I would also like to try making homemade whipped cream for this mudslide!  I’ll remember next time!

Update to last year’s post:

This drink looks so festive in these vintage glasses from Mr. TAL’s mother’s collection of holiday china.  You can also find a similar pattern at TJMaxx.  I was just at the Steubenville, OH location and saw them today.

The gold candy cane striped straws were found at Kroger.

I found the deer at Big Lots last year for 20% off.  He came with a little friend and I have them both sitting on my fireplace mantel right now.  I’ll be showing off my mantel soon.

My little ceramic Christmas tree was a gift from a friend years ago.  It’s so old something like 30 years old I think.

My gold and cream platter was purchased from Home Goods about 9 years ago.

The tiny wire lights add a wonderful festive glow.  I found them at Walmart.  I also know that Amazon carries them as well.  I love the color combination of the bottles, wine glasses, gold accents, and these little lights.
