New Year’s Eve Tablescape 2020

Dec 30, 2020 | Maggie Lane Designs, New Year's, Tablescapes

This is a repost with updates to links and added videos!  I hope you enjoy and can find inspiration for years to come!  For this year’s table, I might be using some items on this table and incorporating red and animal print together!!!!  So excited to show you!  New Year’s Eve is a fun holiday.  Try setting the table or leaving it more casual with stacked dishes, candles, flowers, silverware, and wine glasses with charms.  Your guests can grab the dish they want and pick up the selection of appetizers you have prepared.  Just a bits and bites kind of party!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I am so excited to show you my New Year’s Eve Tablescape for 2020!  The table is a combination of gold, silver, and pink/blush with added greenery to compliment my color scheme.  Thomas and I are making a seafood smorgasbord of king crab legs, crab cakes, garlic butter shrimp, asparagus, and pasta!  I’ll be whipping up a fruity cocktail for a before dinner treat and a delicious dessert for an after dinner treat!
This table was so much fun to put together and take pictures of.  First, I love all the sparkle and the iridescent shimmer of the plates and goblets.  Second, when the sun shines through the window and hits the table, the table just lights up!  I was able to catch the sun shining on the table in some of the pictures.  The three larger photos are actually videos that I took of the table.  Just click in the middle on the arrow to view.

I bought almost everything on sale at the following places:

Green placemats – Kirklands – 20% off
Charger plates – Hobby Lobby – clearance table
Glass dishes – Home Goods
Merry Christmas Ornaments – Walmart – $1.98/piece

I bought everything at the following places:
Napkins (pink) and crystal napkin rings – Home Goods
Napkins (cream) – Home Goods
Gold silverware – gift from my mother
Goblets – Home Goods
Decorative cones – Home Goods
Another fun idea to try is to spread confetti on your table for an added festive look.  Or, if you’ve got a favorite candy like I do, mix it in with the tablescape or add decorative saucers to lay the candy on.  The white chocolate Lindt truffles (my favorite) would look so good here.  I wish I would have thought of that before I took these pictures :-).

I bought everything at the following places:
Blush bristle pine trees – Walmart – $2.00/piece
Christmas trees – Walmart (came 3 in a pack for $12.99)
Soldiers – Kroger – On sale for $7.99/piece
JOY Letters – bought at a Home Interior party years ago.  I bought them in my early 20s so they are almost 30 years old!
Gold table runner – TJMaxx ($14.00)
I hope you enjoyed my table.  The fun part about putting a table together is using what you already have and then finding pieces that compliment the look you are going for.  It is also fun to buy everything brand new as I did with this table.  It took me a few months to find all the pieces because I had nothing to work with.  Once I found the dishes, I went from there.  Now I have several pieces that I can mix and match for next Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2021!  I’ll be sure to save the Merry Christmas ornaments for next year as this would make a beautiful table for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!  Or take out the trees and soldiers, add more cream and pink items and this would be a pretty Valentine’s Day Tablescape.

Speaking of pink, adding different shades of pinks and blush tones would look so pretty on this table. You don’t have to stick with just one or two colors or shades.

Wow! Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed my tablescape. It’s very affordable and attainable to achieve. It just takes time and some trips to the store to pick everything out. The colors are muted enough to combine with other colors as well. Happy New Year!
