Puppy Pumpkin Pancakes

Nov 17, 2022 | Pets, Treat Recipes

Happy Friday everyone!

I have to say that these Puppy Pumpkin Pancakes were a huge hit with Jake and Maggie.  They love pumpkin and cinnamon and when I pulled my little glass jar of cinnamon out, they both were at my side in seconds.  Well, they were laying next to me the whole time I was baking.  I did a treat baking marathon and they loved it :-).

On to this delicious and healthy Puppy Pumpkin Pancake treat.  How do I know it’s good???  I taste every one of their homemade dogs treats to make sure they are ok.  A little bland for me but they are definitely lab approved 🙂
Puppy Pumpkin Pancakes
My last two dog treat recipes Doggie Pumpkin Cookies and Thanksgiving Day Doggie Brittle are Thanksgiving theme related and with Turkey Day next week, this is a perfect time to make them.
Puppy Pumpkin Pancakes
I had a bag of Barkbistro Pooch Pancake mix, pumpkin puree, water, cinnamon, and coconut oil ready to use up.  I measured out the ingredients, stirred them up in a bowl, and spooned out the mix onto a hot cast iron skillet.  I used coconut oil to coat the pan so the pancakes would not stick, added some cinnamon for the top and cooked them just as I would a normal pancake for Mr. TAL and myself.

These pancakes are a bit runny.  If you find this to be a problem, add more pancake mix or whole wheat flour to your mix.  If you make them more than once, try use less water.  Be careful not to burn them.  They cook up fast.

I spooned out 2 tablespoons for each pancake and this recipe made 12 pancakes.  If you are interested in more dog treat recipes, scroll to the bottom for more posts or check out my Dog Treats link!  I hope your pups enjoy their treats which are healthy and super easy to make.

If you want to get fancy and add syrup, mix up some sugar free yogurt and cinnamon to create a “glaze”.  A little dollop of glaze on top would be a perfect addition to an already healthy treat!
