Fried Ice Cream

Feb 12, 2025 | Food, Sweets

Happy Valentine’s Day!  This Fried Ice Cream is the perfect dessert for this special day!  Made with Tillamook French Vanilla Ice Cream, Sarris Chocolate, real whipped cream (see recipe), buttery toasted cornflakes, and a combination of cinnamon, brown sugar, and sugar!  This is truly the best Fried Ice Cream I have ever tasted in my life!  I came up with this on my own and would love to hear what you think if you make this recipe!  Enjoy!

I bought these adorable crystal ice cream sundae cups for Mother’s Day a few years back and created this recipe to make two large ice cream balls for Mr. TAL and myself.  Forming the ice cream balls is the messy part, and your hands get very cold.  I used 1 quart of ice cream, scooped out ice cream, shaped the balls, and placed them on a baking sheet.  Don’t forget to lay a piece of parchment paper down first and freeze for about 30 minutes while you toast the cornflakes.

In a large pan, melt the butter and cornflakes together until bright gold and crispy.  As the cornflakes are cooking, add in brown sugar, sugar, and cinnamon and combine until flakes are coated.  Transfer to a towel-covered plate to absorb any remaining butter.  Let cool.

Make the homemade whipped cream while the ice cream is freezing and the cornflakes are cooling off.  Mix Cool Whip, International Delight Sweet Cream Creamer, vanilla, and confectioner sugar together and put in the refrigerator until you are ready to use.

Take your frozen ice cream balls and roll them into the cornflake mixture making sure all sides are coated.

Top with melted Sarris Chocolate, homemade whipped cream, and Bumbleberry Farms honey.  You can add any topping you like (Banana Foster), but I chose these three, which were perfect for us :-).
