Can dogs get sunburns?
I was standing out in the yard with the dogs the other day and Jake being Jake, he was giving me a hard time about coming in. He insisted that he be allowed to lay in the yard and watch the neighbors level off their yard. We have a new home built next to us and now the new landscape is going in. What I like is that Jake and Maggie are not fazed at all by the large equipment and dump trucks...
Nylabone for the power chewers
I haven't done a product review in a while so I figured I'd take another chance on a toy that said "Tuff Enuff". I was at Shop N' Save today getting groceries and stopped in the pet isle to see what they had. I've posted before about how Jake and Maggie do not to play well with toys, they demolish them! Well, I bought 2 canvas toys in the shape of a bone and 2 Nylabones in the shape of a...

Comcast’s New “Pet Filter”
"Is Maggie hiding from me?" "Is Maggie smiling?" Who doesn’t love to know what their pet is doing when they are not home? I know we do so we installed NEST to help us keep an eye on Jake and Maggie. When we bought our new home, we chose Vector Security Company to arm the whole house, all windows, and doors which gave us a piece of mind but it didn’t help us with being able to monitor the...
Is Foxglove poisonous to dogs and cats?
This is a re-post from 2019 showing my beautiful Foxglove that I fell madly in love with only to find that they are highly toxic to animals. I wanted to share this with you incase you to have fallen in love and have these on your property. They were just too close to the house so I dug everything up and threw them away. They looked so pretty but brought the bumble bees which wasn't good...

1 easy way to make dehydrated zucchini medallions
Happy Memorial Day everyone! I know...it's about over! It's been a beautiful weekend and Thomas and I got a lot done. We mowed grass, trimmed and weeded the yard, cleaned out the garage and shed, and ran errands. We took time out on Friday night for "date night" where we had fish n chips at Margaret's Cafe in Toronto, OH. And speaking of cleaning out the garage...we had a seal tight dog...
Treats-Unleashed Pet Bakery
My sweet friend gave Thomas and I a gift card from an all natural pet bakery and pet store called Treats-Unleashed here in Missouri. I visited the store for the first time today and was so impressed with the store, the customer service and their selection of baked dog treats, food, and dog and cat supplies that I...well, I spent a lot of money! Jake and Maggie have seemed less than thrilled...
How to pay your vet bill if you don’t have pet insurance
"Maggie just came back from the groomers and I called her "Pretty Girl". "This was the face she made". This past weekend was crazy for us. We spent the entire weekend getting our lawn mowed, shrubs and trees trimmed, and landscape weeded. We made trips to Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowes for flowers, potting soil and a Weber grill. The biggest purchase was our new Kubota tractor which makes...
What is Kitten Season?
What is Kitten Season?Have you heard of it yet? If not, this is the time of year when every unspayed, queen (female cat) is likely to have a belly full of babies, or a litter of youngsters by her side. This is also the time when shelters are getting bombarded with mothers and their baby kittens, some even arriving without their mothers. Why do kittens arrive seasonally? Kitten season occurs...
