Doggie Star Biscuits

Jul 3, 2022 | Pets, Treat Recipes

This is a re-post:  I thought I’d post these Doggie Star Biscuits again because they are not only healthy but perfect for July 4th!  I ended up getting a lot of use out of these star cookie cutters.  I used them to cut out these treats and then used them again to cut out star shaped cheese for a charcuterie board I was taking to a party.

Happy July 4th everyone!  We hope you are celebrating and enjoying your day with lots of good food, family, and friends.  Today on the blog is a delicious and healthy Doggie Star Biscuit to make for your pups!  Made with all natural, pet safe ingredients made with Buddy Budder Peanut Butter by BarkBISTRO, Simple Truth Organic Coconut Flour, free-range eggs, organic blueberries and bananas!  This recipe made 32 stars and the dogs loved them.  Per Jake and Maggie, they are 100% lab approved!

As I type this, we are watching Father Stu which is a great movie and the fireworks are blazing the sky outside.  Fortunately the dogs are relaxed and calm but we are still keeping a close eye on them and will be staying home tomorrow night to make sure they are not scared. Unfortunately we have neighbors who LOVE their fireworks and the City of Weirton always puts on a display.

This recipe is easy to make by just combining all of the ingredient together in a bowl.  I left the blueberries whole instead of crushing them because they bake down in the oven.  The ingredients were mixed with a spoon, rolled into a ball, and flattened with a rolling pin as if you are making a pie crust.  I sprinkled whole wheat flour on the table, my hands, and the rolling pin to make sure the dough would not stick.  I used a metal star cookie cutter I bought at Walmart.  Preheat the oven at 350 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.

This recipe calls for using a 1/3 cup of warm water and four eggs which keeps it from getting to dry.  I put one egg in at a time because making this for the first time I thought that four might be too much but it worked out perfectly.
