Baked Gnocchi With Pomodoro Sauce







Move the skillet directly from the stove to the oven and broil for approximately 5-7 minutes. Top with more cheese and you are ready to serve.
Note: I used all fresh ingredients and all DeLallo Products. If you want to add another fresh ingredient, place baby spinach on top of the gnocchi and cheese and bake on the oven. Serve with garlic bread.


Baked Gnocchi With Pomodoro Sauce
Ingredients
Red Sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 5 stems flat leaf parsley, fresh
- 5 stems oregano, fresh
- 5 stems basil, fresh
- 1/2 sweet onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 28 oz can DeLallo San Marzano tomoatoes
- pinch salt and pepper
- pinch red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- 4 tbsp butter, salted I used Land O Lakes
- 4 tbsp butter, salted
Homemade Fettuccini Sauce
- 2 sticks butter, salted
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups parmesan cheese
- pinch pepper
Gnocchi
- 1 16 oz package of DeLallo potato gnocchi
- 1 block Mozzarella cheese, broken into pieces
- 1 cup parmesan cheese
Instructions
Red Sauce
- Add olive oil to a cast iron skillet. Over medium heat sauté herbs until crispy
- Melt butter, chop onions, peel garlic and sauté until onions are opaque. Throw whole clove in and cook with onions
- Drain herbs, peel stems from leaves, add to can of tomato sauce. Add onions and garlic
- Add pepper, salt, and hot pepper flakes. Let simmer
Fettuccini Sauce
- Melt butter, add garlic powder, heavy whipping cream, and cheese. Blend together into red sauce
Gnocchi
- Boil Gnocchi, drain, and add to sauce in cast iron skillet
- Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese
- Place cast iron skillet in oven and broil for approximately 5-7 minutes
- Serve hot with garlic bread
