Strawberry Flavored Dog Treats

Dec 14, 2019 | Pets, Treat Recipes

This is a re-post (with more information) from awhile back but I thought it would be a perfect dog treat for Valentine’s Day!  Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day with your pet(s)?  We always have and will again this year with a new dog treat and Charcuterie Board!  Stay tuned for a new tablescape and a new treat recipe!  Jake And Maggie got new bows from The Pampered Pooches (use code 2labs for 10%) off!  But I’ll be sure to include photos of them wearing their new designs!

I had a list of dog treat recipes that I’ve been wanting to try and some I’ve made over the years but I thought I would give you a very quick and easy one to make for now.  We are all so busy this time of the year and this only involved 2 ingredients…strawberries and coconut oil!!  I found this recipe in the Proud Dog Chef cookbook and it called for 6 strawberries and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.  I used 10 organic strawberries and 1 tablespoon of Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil. Just blend the two ingredients in a blender or Bullet and freeze the puree in your favorite mold.  I chose the heart mold because well…red and hearts go together :-).

I will be putting more recipes together for you but for now, enjoy this easy one and let me know how your pups liked it!

"A dog wags its tail with all its heart"

I bought this mold 4 years ago at JoAnn Fabrics when we were living in Missouri.  I also found similar molds at Walmart and on Amazon.  Walmart has a Valentine’s section that has adorable decor anywhere from candles, dishes, candy, wall decor, table decor too molds, icings, and chocolates.  I always make sure to run my molds through the dishwasher first before making treats for Jake And Maggie!
Looking for more inspirational ideas and posts, check my old posts.  Remember, I always use healthy and organic ingredients that humans can eat.  Trying to eat healthy, try one of these recipes!  They taste pretty good…yes, I taste them before giving them to Jake And Maggie!
