Summer To Fall Table 2022

Aug 21, 2022 | Halloween, Maggie Lane Designs, Tablescapes

Happy Monday everyone!  I’m starting to see fall decor out in the stores which is giving me all the fall feels!  Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I start spring and summer with a bang wanting to be outdoors working on my yard but then I start to crave fall weather abut this time.  I love transition pieces that can transition you from summer to fall without breaking the bank and what better way to do that is to create a Summer To Fall Table!  The table adds color, is already set for meals, or a get together with family and friends.  I bought these sunflower dishes a few years ago at Home Goods but I’ve seen them in slightly different patterns at Kohl’s, TJMaxx, Big Lots (in Melamine), and Amazon.  The tuscan pattern with hints of black really stood out to me because I have a black tablecloth I bought years ago at JoAnn Fabrics and new the colors would pop!

Jake And Maggie followed me back and forth from my china cabinet in the dining room to the kitchen and helped me create this table for you. I used leftover silk flowers from a wreath I made last year to create this centerpiece and broke up sunflower stems to add around my glass votive candles.  I hope you enjoy my table and it inspires you to create one for yourself 🙂
When I create a table, I like to work with three main colors and use accent colors to fill in where needed.  My three main colors were yellow (sunflowers), black (tablecloth) and rust (floral arrangement) with accents being green and gold.  Other options would be to use cobalt blue, hunter green, white, burgundy, fuchsia pink, or a vibrant purple to name a few colors.  Feel free to step out of the box and let your creativity flow.
This table has many layers, height, and depth to it.  I chose to keep the centerpiece very full and high and used crystal votive candles instead of candle sticks as to not compete with the arrangement.  The base of the flower arrangement is actually a pitcher but I used it this way instead.  I broke up a sunflower grouping purchased on Amazon and placed them around the votives for an added wow factor.  The napkins consist of three different silk napkins in 3 different textures all purchased from Pier 1 wrapped tightly with a silk flower stem from Hobby Lobby.  I’ll let you in on a little secret…These napkins have never been used!  They are purely for decoration and when guests come over, they are picked up and paper napkins are used.  I love buying beautiful matching paper napkins and can normally find quality ones at Home Goods or TJMaxx.
I never thought about silverware until my parents bought me my first set of china as a gift years ago.  It came with gorgeous gold silverware that I have used in many tablescapes and special occasions!  I never realized how matching utensils could spice up your table so keep that in mind :-).  This also goes for serving utensils as well.  I put out two serving trays on this table because I think it’s so fun to serve up appetizers on one side and a sweet little something on the other side!
Everything that you see on this table came from Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, TJMaxx, Pier 1, Dollar General, and Amazon.  I like having the option for different drinks so I always use two styles of glassware.  Sometimes it’s more casual, sometimes dressy, and sometimes I combine both.  On this table I used large green wine glasses from Dollar General and purchased more expensive wine glasses in gold at Home Goods. When the light hits them, the colors have hints of green and pink in them.  These green wine glasses from Dollar General were only $1.00 a piece and are both large and of great quality and you would never know unless I told you …which I did :-).  Another fun idea to keep your guests happy to give them a choice of wine glass markers which fit around the stem of the glass and have trinkets on them so your guests always know which glass is theirs!

I hope you enjoyed this table.  If you are looking for more fun fall ideas, check out my previous posts here:
